DALE Privacy Policy
Last updated: 9 October 2026
1. Who is responsible
- Controller: Guillermo Serrano Zambudio, owner of DALE
- Privacy contact: [email protected]
2. What data we process and why
| Data | Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| The account you sign in with (an Apple or Google identifier and your email; with Google, also that account’s name and photo) | Sign in | Performance of the service you request |
| Your invite link code | Let your friends send you a friend request | Performance of the service |
| Name you choose | So your friends know who you are | Performance of the service |
| Friendships and requests | Know who you can tell about your plans | Performance of the service |
| Your friend lists | Tell the people you pick faster | Performance of the service |
| Plans (type, place, time, pace, duration, note) and who joins | Suggest plans and see who is going | Performance of the service |
| The plan's point on the map (latitude and longitude), only if you add one | Show the people you tell where the plan is | Performance of the service |
| Your phone's notification code, its language and its time zone (only if you allow notifications) | Notify you on your phone about plans and friend requests | Performance of the service |
| Your do-not-disturb hours and which friends you've muted (only if you set them; only you can see them) | Not notifying you during those hours or about those friends' plans | Performance of the service |
Location is optional. To set the plan's point you can move it on the map or tap "Use my location". Only in that last case do we ask for location permission, and only while you are using the app, never in the background: we read your position once and save it as the plan's point. We do not track your location or store it anywhere else. We never use your data for advertising or sell it.
3. Who sees your data
- Your friends see your name.
- A plan is only seen by the people you tell, and they see who is going by name.
- The plan's point is only seen by the people you tell, who can open it in their maps app.
- Your lists are only visible to you; nobody knows they are on them. If you share a list, the other person only receives the people who are also their friends.
- Someone can only send you a friend request if they have your link, and you decide whether to accept. You can change your link at any time and the old one stops working.
4. Providers
- Supabase (database and sign-in), on servers in the European Union (Ireland).
- Apple and Google to sign you in: they check your account and give us an identifier and your email (Apple lets you hide it); with Google, also that account’s name and photo. We never receive your password. We don’t use the photo.
- Expo (USA) to deliver phone notifications through Apple and Google: it receives your phone's notification code and the text of the notification (for example, who is proposing a plan and where). The transfer relies on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
- Sentry (servers in the European Union, Germany) so we find out when the app fails: if something goes wrong, it receives the technical error, your phone's model and system, the app version and the last screens you visited. It does not receive your name, your email or your IP address.
- Apple and Google: the map is shown with Apple Maps on iPhone and Google Maps on Android, and when you tap "Use my location" it is your phone's own system that turns your position into an address.
5. How long we keep it
- Plans, including their point on the map, disappear 24 hours after their start time.
- Everything else, for as long as you have an account. You can delete your account in the app ("Your profile" → "Delete my account") and everything of yours is deleted immediately.
6. Your rights
You can access, correct, delete and port your data, and object to or restrict its processing, by writing to the contact in section 1. You can also complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es).
7. Children
DALE is for people aged 16 and over.
